    Gold Prices Witness Another Major Fall in Domestic Market

    Just a day after an increase, gold prices have once again fallen in the domestic market. The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of 22-carat gold by BDT 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams).

    This information was disclosed in a statement signed by the BAJUS Chairman on Tuesday (July 28).

    According to the new prices, the price of 22-carat gold has been set at BDT 2,20,858 per bhori, including VAT, which is BDT 2,216 less than the previous price.

    Furthermore, the price of 21-carat gold has been reduced by BDT 2,100 to BDT 2,10,943 per bhori.

    The price of 18-carat gold has been lowered by BDT 1,750 to BDT 1,81,200 per bhori, and traditional method gold by BDT 1,458 to BDT 1,48,016 per bhori.

    Previously, on Monday (July 27), BAJUS had increased the prices of all types of gold by similar amounts. At that time, 22-carat gold was priced at BDT 2,23,074 per bhori, 21-carat at BDT 2,13,043, 18-carat at BDT 1,82,950, and traditional method gold at BDT 1,49,474.

    According to BAJUS data, gold prices in the domestic market have been adjusted 96 times so far this year. Among these, prices were increased 46 times, decreased 49 times, and VAT was adjusted once.

    Prior to this, in 2025, gold prices in the domestic market were adjusted a total of 93 times. In that year, prices were increased 64 times and decreased 29 times.
